It seems like every 20 something woman I meet has a past with a string of old boyfriends, partied and had fun in college, experimenting with different guys, etc. I was busy working and going to school during that time and didn't have much time for fun or to get crazy. I admit that kinda bothers me a little so maybe you ladies can set me straight. Are there women who don't really go through that phase or is this pretty much a rite of passage these days? Am I just looking in the wrong places or do I need to be more open minded?
It depends on whom you are looking for. Most college students do the things you mention. These are pretty tame things nowadays:
A string of old boyfriends - How many is a "string"? More than one or two? If so, then yes, most women have had a few boyfriends by the time they are in their 20s.
Partied - What does this mean? Have they gone to parties? If so, then yes, most college graduates have been to at least a few parties. And what do you mean by "parties," anyway? My nephew just turned two and had a party with a bounce house.
Had fun in college - Even more vague. We've all "had fun" in college.
Experimenting with different guys - Experimented what? Kissing? Groping? Had sex with more than one person? If so, then yes, probably.
If you are referring to more drastic, extreme versions like something out of Girls Gone Wild, or drunken orgies where people are snorting coke off one another, then no, most college kids probably have NOT had that kind of experience.
No more wild than men. It's kind of a double standard, don't you think? Unless you are a man who never had a wild time or a party phase. In that case I'd understand your desire to find someone with a similar past. (they are out there, but probably just in a different crowd).
That said, it does seem like there are a lot of people of both sexes who have increasingly gotten more wild in their 20s over the past 10-15 years or so.
No wild phases here either... maybe as a teen but even then it was just B.S. stuff, not sleeping around and experimenting with guys... I've just always done what I wanted, didn't even feel the need to let loose and go nuts.
I don't think 'most' women go through a wild phase. Certainly some do. I know I did that's for sure. I was so wild I could tell you stories that would make your straight hair curly
It was fun, thank goodness I lived in a small town. I could have gotten in a lot of trouble in a city.
I bet! The stories I've heard about big city nightlife during the 70s sound like it was easy for anyone to get into trouble.
