It's probably a bit of a reminder to the other person as well. Kind of like a wedding ring--you don't need to wear it to be married, of course, but it's a nice visual reminder of the vows you made.
Regardless, if you don't need/want one, don't get it. It serves a purpose to many though.
I've made a commitment to remain abstinence until I get married in about 5 years or so. (I'm 17 now.) A couple of my classmates at my school wear one, but I don't know where they got them from. I've seen them online, but I'm a little skeptical about buying things online.
Does anyone know where to buy one or look for one?

I never needed a ring to remain chaste, I just didn't get naked with anyone. It's alot easier. Of course, I missed out on the "look at me and how good I am" factor that you seem to want. Whatever. They don't have "humility" rings I guess.
