In the latter case I'd rather enjoy Christmas Eve on my own, as much as I can. I've been trying to turn it into sort of a meditation-type thing... I do everything I'd normally do if I weren't alone and try to enjoy it.

Thanksgiving itself means nothing to me - I don't mind celebrating it, but I don't care if I don't. It's just sad to be reminded other people have families and you don't. On the other hand, hearing and reading about all kinds of "wonderful" families puts things into perspective somewhat...

I don't celebrate any of the holidays... but I really like seeing other people have a good time. So I usually work on the big holidays. Plus, being first nation/native american, what's to celebrate about thanksgiving, really? And buddhists don't celebrate christmas or hannukah or any gift-giving wintry decorating holidays... so I have the luxury of choosing what I want to do and who with and what it all means to me.

It's not for everybody, but it's an adventure for me.

At first I was thinking scotch, but then I decided on wine, too. The other day my cube mate and I were joking that Parmesan Crisps would make a not too bad dinner (540 cals) and tonight I tried just that! Perfect with wine!

It'll be dessert time soon! Throw some pie! So, what's that German chocolate pie like...? Like the cake, but pie...?

Hooooooray! I baked a pie, and a cake, and made sweet potatoes to take to work tomorrow! One of the nurses is a vegetarian too and is bringing green beans and cheesy potatoes and asparagus!

I hope we're not too busy... football AND there are six new breeds debuting at the dog show tomorrow!

It really is the small things in life...

That's an interesting point! I wonder if other Native Americans celebrate it and what exactly they'd celebrate....

I haven't tasted it and have promised to stab the hand of anyone that touches it before dinner tomorrow. I will let you know how it turns out...I'm looking forward to trying it.

What kind of wine are you drinking? Parmesan crisps..yummy! I will have to try that!

Oh, you're on an experimental streak! I thought you'd made it before.
