I saw some weird billboard today - "Can you afford to die?". Couldn't see what it was about, but I'm guessing it must've been life insurance.

It made me feel warm and fuzzy - at least I can afford to die!

Afraid not. You have a person and a cat to provide for, so you're not so free!

This reminds me, the other day tijlover was talking about how he works at a facility where patients are alive but in a vegetative state. I then had a dream where I had to go get me a power of attorney soon. So I went to the hospital and got me one just in case I end up like that, I can leave the papers ready so they can let me die instead of always being that way. I still need to fill them out though, but it's hard to decide exactly what to check.

Yeah, we did that too. And it IS hard sometimes to decide what to check. Have you seen the form entitled "Five Wishes"? It asks those questions plus a lot of "smaller" issues, like whether you'd like music playing when you're in that state, or prayers done over you, things like that... Or is that the one you got?

You can get them from a hospital...? It's a tough choice... I also don't wanna be a vegetable, but on the other hand I don't want to be a fast & easy source of organs, either. I guess it's a moot point in my case. Whatever will be will be...
