This is some old saying that maybe was true 40 years ago,do you think this is still hold true nowadays? Do you think that us women really care about their success or we are more equal
Spouses should support each other and care about each other's success. And no one should spend his or her life "behind" someone else.
I really dislike this saying, you know. It implies that without a woman behind him, a man would not be successful, which could not be any further from the truth.

At the same time, it also implies a wise woman spends her life staring at someone's ass, so I guess this saying is offensive to both genders equally.

Like I said, if the wife is making her own $, then obviously she doesn't need to latch on to a man. Same with men who latch on to women.

Just offends more people for some reason when I make statements regarding the female gender than the male. But it applies to both.

we did not like the way our grandparents did things, we did our own version, it has failed.

Your thoughts were going so well and then with this one you screw things up. I suspect many men can be successful without their woman being involved. I would also be wonderful to have a wife by your side to offer support. I would have never been able to be successful if I would have stayed married to my first wife. She demanded to be the 'money handler', yet she was a spend thrift. She was a stay at home mom, but she would rather talk on the phone all day than keep a clean house. She would rather go out and buy 'takeout' rather than cook dinner. She ended up taking my business and then telling me I could work for her. She drug me down and kept her foot on my neck until her affairs finally ended in divorce. I rebuit my business and started over, eventually becoming a successful business man with a male employee and six female employees. My ex-wife could spend money faster than I could make it, then complain because I wasn't making money fast enough. He never was behind me, helping me out, she was in front of me with her hand out.
