We had to eat a handful of gravel. Didn't matter if we ate it before the dried bundle of sticks or afterward, but we had to eat it - Mom and Dad wouldn't let us leave the table until we cleaned our plates.

But I always loved dessert - Mom always made the BEST stewed monkey brains. Really great with a dollop of whipped-and-abused cream on top and fire-ant sprinkles.

Oh, is that a competition? I used to ride the city bus all the way downtown and back in first grade - at an age you spoiled brats can't even be left at home alone! At the age of 12 (when you can be left alone at home) I was changing trains and buses to go visit my grandpa - alone! Oh, yeah, and 30-year olds were hitting on me. Of course, it probably wasn't this crazy when you were growing up...

Aaaww, poor Temp. How far is it? Can't you do something about getting a car... even if it's a junker?

Or is it something like 1/2 mile and you're playing with us?

Oh, I don't consider my childhood F-ed up at all! As a matter of fact, I had a great childhood! I'd commit suicide if I had to grow up here.
