My taste for metal grew when I got my satellite radio. I have a wide range of tastes in music. From classical to country to metal and just about everything in between.
Look at my profile.... metallica, to frank sinatra, to george strait.
Andrea Bocelli, KD Lang, Michael Buble.
The list goes on and on.
But you know, at the core..... it's power chords, the root and the 5th baby.......
I still like the original version..... I just like the kicked up power chord/fuzzy version.
I ain't hatin on the orignal matter of fact I play it all of the time......
Soul is subjective...... and yes I see soul in much.
Well, I'll tell ya what - I'm in my office right now listening to some rapcrap on the jukebox, and after listening to THAT either version is fine with me.
PS: I need to find a smiley with fingers in the ears.

Yes, Rapcrap can really push the boundaries of the most monk like man.........
I don't know if the ancient masters had to deal with rap.... I think it would have been harder " to hear the stream"
I have 2 daughters. My oldest and I have always had a very rocky relationship and I have been very grateful for my younger sister always being there for my daughter to confide in and give advice to. She won't listen to me but will listen to her Aunt.
I encourage you to continue being the Aunt who gives good advice. Even if your niece doesn't want to hear it, she will eventually take it on board. She's lucky to have you in her life.
Thank you. I will continue to be there for her. She is my heart, one of the closest people to me. Maybe that's why I'm all sick about it. I just don't want her to get hurt or put herself in such unfavorable situation.
I would say offer some advice along with some of your personal experience so she can see that you're able to relate. If you're too "parental" and preachy in your approach, she'll only hide stuff from you even more.
FWIW, this is fairly normal behavior now. Most teens are thinking and talking these things with one another. Facebook has allowed us a glimpse into what's going on in their heads...it's a way for them to think out loud, and they aren't mature enough to comprehend the repurcussions of what they think is harmless chatter.
I completely agree with you about sharing personal experience. I was always pretty open with her before and even now, she assures me that she is not having sex, that she understands the consequences that may lie ahead...I don't see any reason not to believe her. Yet it's hard for me to swallow when I see the following on her wall "hey, u cute, nice titts"... She is such a beautiful girl and it's only natural that boys her age like her, I guess it's just that it's so out in the open for EVERYONE to see.
Another thing that bothers me is that she is on it ALL THE TIME. Read a book for crying out loud! Get a hobby! No...everytime I log on, she is freaking on it and on it....Talking about the waste of time!
Sorry if I'm not coherent. I'm slightly under influence.
