Here is a vid that I find hilariously funny, but I have a warped sense of humor.
A great scene from a fantastic movie. I actually lost a lot of interest in it after they leave boot camp - just not as amusing.
Had a real fun night last night. First I got talked into babysitting one of the dancers' "kids" - a 14-week-old Rottie. It was like babysitting a human toddler - it was into everything, destroying everything, chewing on everything. She didn't leave him any toys or food, so I had to spend the night hustling these up as well as taking the beast outside for a walk several times.
Then another dancer, a good friend of mine for several years, got a call that her father, who is in hospice for stomach cancer, was rapidly getting worse. She had expected him to be OK for several weeks yet so it was quite a shock to her - so much so that I volunteered to go with her to the hospice.
It's an hour's drive away, so we went there, sat with her father for several hours (her father seemed stabilized by the end of the vigil), then she dropped me off a short while ago - another 27-hour day.
It's roughly 4:30am now, and I teach 2 classes today - each 2 hours - from 8-10 and 12-2. Then it's time to get the club going again for another 7 or 8 hours.
She's not used to dealing with death - I'm glad I was able to help her a little. Sometimes the only way of helping the living is to face death with them.

I'm sorry to hear that Sifu...it's always really sad when someone dies...
See? You WERE able to help someone this week, although with a lot more unfortunate circumstances.

Thank you for that. Actually, given his physical (and no doubt mental) state - a state I've encountered altogether too many times among family and friends - it was a blessing in disguise.
I would like to have been one of those 19th-century scientists who attempted to catch the last breath of a dying person - they said it contained the soul.
But on a far more happier note, I think - Philstivus continues louder and longer than a Full Throttle Saloon marathon! In fact, here's a pic of me enjoying one of the many local celebrations being held here...
