Starting to use Google Chrome. I got tired of Firefox crashing. I like it so far.

I used to love getting up early and getting good deals on stuff. People were excited, and friendly. One mall in Atlanta had coffee outside at 4 AM for people waiting to shop.

I have a memory from when I was ten or twelve, I guess... my uncle and I went shopping on the morning after Tgiving. My cousin wanted the talking "Knight Rider" car. The Kmart in the town nearby was going to have twenty of them. We got there super early, and there was a huge line behind us.

When the doors opened, I thought we would walk to the toy department and pick one up and be on our way. Uh-uh. People started running. I heard my uncle yell at me to "Run! Go grab one!" I remember this huge grin crossing my face... I get to RUN in the STORE? I passed about ten of these out of shape, angry-sounding adults, grabbed the car, and was off! Some guy tried to grab it out of my hands and I said, "no way, jose!" Now I think that's hilarious. Who says that?

Probably more importantly, who grabs a toy out of a twelve-year-old girl's hands?

Some slow-moving adult who wants it for his kids.

Oh sure.It wasn't until many years later that I began thinking like an adult and considered going shopping the day after just to pick up some of the "hot" toys for that year... to re-sell to desperate parents. Like the Zhu-Zhu Hamsters. A couple of years ago they were going for $60 or $70 each in the days before Christmas.

Oh, man, it's been a long day... I'm so tired and overwhelmed. And after all the visits to numerous furniture stores and much deliberation without any firm decision, the visit to the last store turned into a coffee date of sorts. What is it with these youngsters?! Why don't they just go for girls their age and have rugrats?!

I just took a look at that video, too. It's ridiculous... There isn't a damn thing I want THAT much! Not to mention it's freezing cold in most states now.
