If they want to dress like that then they can knock themselves out. I think we can all agree that an 65 year old woman in a micro mini is not appropriate.
Ok, I will concede that I can't speak for what's going on at Wal-mart. As a typical NYC person, wal-mart is not on my radar (we don't have them at all). I probably find myself in a wal-mart once a year if that, and I don't spend any time evaluating fellow shoppers. I stopped judging the appearance of strangers after high school.

Tell that to Tina Turner or Cher (next year when she's 65). Depends on the body and personality. I couldn't carry it off but those ladies can!

Okay, but exactly how many 60+ women do you see running around in micro-minis, realistically (even in Walmart)? I mean is this really enough of an issue that we need to warn other 60-pluses against trying it?

I live in Crazyville USA (Los Angeles ) and even *I* don't think I've seen enough older women in micro-minis to feel it warrants a public service announcement. It really seems like a non-issue in most places...as far as I can see. Maybe in Beverly Hills (sometimes) and in that case the entire person is strange, with the signature windblown face look, etc., so...but again, that's rather isolated. It's not like I have to worry about it going to PTA meetings or something.

Seriously.
I have 4 sisters who beat the misogyny out of me, and this thread is NOT about you women servicing us men, its about a older woman trying to be a younger woman, by trickery, fraud, surgery, botox, etc.

that instead of embracing the beautiful women they are, they are compelled to plastic it, silicon it, and mac make-up it.

If the OP would have been a woman, this whole thread would be more that the OP is vain and jealous, but since the OP is a man it is just masochistic

Phooey!

Jonathan

Please, Please, Please.. look at my profile picture, and state that I, the OP of this thread, a 52 year old man has 'hit the wall and is sliding down it", Please!

Hi OngletNYC,

Women are judged by the way they look. Men are judged on their social standing and their successful ambition . The species needs to make sure someone is bringing home the bacon. It also needs healthy female bodies to start the whole sexual warfare charade all over again because making babies really packed a wallop. I don't think we are going to stop seeing "loser" threads(aka men subject to harsh female judgment) anytime soon do you?

Here's to the ladies that lunch, aren't they the BEST

Everybody rise!

I don't understand all the animosity towards women who want to look their best. Why should we learn to love aging and fit ourselves in a neat little box that everyone else defines. I say let people be people. If they want to wear fishnet stockings and have purple hair at 40, who cares!

Now, not all women are "cougars." I hate, hate, hate that word. Okay, so I hate it more now that I'm in my 30's. Still I just find that word disrespectful when it's applied to all women who are that age.

Could you imagine a thread like this devoted to men? Newsflash: Even in a suit of spun gold, you're no prize, yourself.

As far as I'm concerned, this whole thread is nothing but a steaming heap of misogyny. Women are not here to be your eye candy, and you people who are so quick to foist your sanctimonious, judgmental, objectifying b.s. on women can kiss my arse.

Exactly! Nice post!
