Well lets see. Some people in my wifes family have been married 3 times. First they get married at the court, then they got married in the Church when they could afford a church wedding, and then because they joined the Mormon church they got married a third time in one of the Temples. So I would say that the maximum amount needed would be three times. The situation that I am refering to is cultural. Many Mexican families have children even before getting married while others decide to get married at the court house untill they can afford a big Church wedding. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints converts will then have a Temple Wedding. My parents did that when they joined the Mormon church when I was a kid.
Either or. I think an opt-out clause would be a good idea, without penalty for non-renewal. Not for us, mind you, but I've seen pretty hellish marriages that have kept churning along out of sheer momentum.
Good idea. Now if that could extend to certain relatives on the other side of the family.....
I don't know how people do it. My mother was married 4 times. After my 1 and only divorce I asked her "How the hell did you go through 3 divorces?". She said something I've suspected all along "I don't think I loved the first 3, just thought I did." This most recent break up was 100x worse than my marriage ending, so I often wonder if people who get married multiple times are confused into thinking they are in love. I just don't see how anyone who truely loves another and it fails, can just bounce back into another relationship. Maybe thats the problem, they are rebounders.
Getting married is like going to New York city or seeing your mother-in-law naked.
Everybody ought to do it once but nobody ought to do it twice.
