I guess your life is the cost of a land rover. You don't think the mechanics knows your bf and his family and will take up for them? If he doesn't know them and he's not from the same area, I would contact him and find out how you can get your car back.

At this point, you might have to file a stolen car report and say your ex took the car down to Mexico where he's from.

Not for nothing, LIVE THEM ALONE. Forget your car, not to stereotype but Mexico is in a REALLY BAD HELL HOLE right now and I feel the drug war is really making people go nuts. The last thing I would want is to hear about some girl who was raped, murdered and missing in Juarez. PLEASE do not travel over there, avoid Mexico as much as you can. My friend was kidnapped and murdered and thrown into the Rio Grande. Forget that place and those people.

Are you freaking insane? Do you have any judgment whatsoever?

I mean, assuming that you're not making this incident up whole cloth, what on earth have you been thinking to get you into this predicament? It sounds as if you make one God awful decision after another in your life. So, for a change, consider doing the exact opposite of what you're inclined to do.

Just tell the police (The U.S., not the Mexicans) that your car was stolen. In any event, even if you find an honest Mexican cop, he'll be too busy with drug kingpins to deal with your car. There's nothing you have that is worth going back over the border for. If you do, then you're an idiot.

Why don't you hire a mexican repo man? And why not call the cops and report it all? Hell, you got nothing to lose except the cost of the phone call, right? Maybe the police can recommend a way to get your car back safely.

She shouldn't even bother hiring a repo man. He'll be just another beheaded, mutilated victim for all in Juarez to see.

Cutting off the money you've been spending on him will cover the cost of your car payment.

Call the Rover a loss. At least you've got your life. Maybe you'll wise up now and develop a sense of judgment.

What city is your car and bf in? You mention getting someone to drive the car to the border like it is some distance from the border. If that's the case, then you would have had to get a temporary vehicle import sticker from Aduana which requires clear title or permission from lien holder, who would require full coverage Mexican insurance. So those saying to report it stolen, that won't work. There's a paper trail proving she voluntarily took the car down there.

Keep in mind 98% of crimes go unpunished in Mexico. Spouse abuse is often overlooked if not accepted. Stay away from him completely. Once he knows the gravy train is over he may want to exact revenge and if you just "disappear" no one will bother to search for you. Think of the jet skier on Falcon Lake, that was a big national media story and he was never found and no one ever punished.

Money talks in Mexico. If you want your car back offer the mechanic a large amount of cash ($500 or so) to tow it to the border. Keeping in mind that it is illegal for anyone else to drive the imported vehicle without you in the car. Don't meet him just anywhere, make them meet you right at the border in the immigration parking lot where you need to get the import sticker canceled (if you ever want to take a car back to Mexico).

Everytime you start feeling sorry for yourself read post #5 again and try to better understand what 20yrsinBranson is trying to get across to you. A boy friend in Mexico hitting you is no small thing. Is your life worth a car? Consider this an education, and remember, educations always cost money. I would say you are darn lucky to still be alive. I don't think you realize the danger you put yourself in. If he killed you all he would have to worry about is hiding your body in the dessert for a few days. Sat away from him.
