So that thread about the guy who's going on a date with a chick that will involve dancing got me thinking: why in the hell do women like dancing so much? It seems like more women enjoy it than men. What's up with that?

I personally just love moving to the music, shaking my body in the way that feels liberating, erotic and sensual. It makes me feel sexy and free. When a woman dances with confidence, the floor lights up and she knows it too. That's one of her ways of expressing herself and her sexuality.

I think men love to dance too but don't always admit it.

All I have to say is there would be a lot more happy guys if they danced more and actually enjoyed it.

Exactly. Although I think there are some men who do not like it, or maybe they just do not feel comfortable doing it.

Totally! I love feeling the music. It can be such an aphrodisiac. It's one of the reasons why I think my husband enjoys taking me out to clubs/lounges. (I know he's not going for the music per se.)

I love to dance, but I'm a bit reserved, so I tend to avoid the stage and/or dance floor. I prefer to move & groove on the sidelines.

Well, for me. I just love music, I love dancing, I love hearing really loud music and dancing to it whether at home, in a club or whatever... music just moves me.

I think dancing is a lost art, it used to be considered an essential part of the courting process. So many men nowadays want a fast track to "getting" women but are too lazy to learn what makes a women really tick. Dancing really is just another form of foreplay, and a vehicle to see if you connect with someone. And an excuse to get close to someone you don't know!

Do you really need to ask why women like to dance?

I agree!!! You watch any old classic movie, there was always dancing involved at some point. Plus, dancing is a great stress reliever!! And true, it's an aphrodisiac, watch two people dancing who are really in tune, it's a fun. Ihave a guy friend that is my "dance partner", when I'm feeling the mood, I call him up and meet him out at the local club. We have a GREAT time.
