Online dating sites: Rip off? (clubs, social, internet, honest)

I found my girlfriend on a FREE dating site. In 2006. There are a few of those out there. I don't think I want to PAY to meet people.

People I wouldn' t bother with "freebie" dating sites. Other than if you want to use discussion boards, forums, or a site like MySpace, or if you are so inclined you could meet people through chat rooms and online gaming. The "free" dating sites always seem to attract a lower class of undesireables , no offense, just what I have observed. Craigslsit--I could write volumes on the losers and whackjobs that traipse though that place alone! Now I wonder who Craig is and what in the HELL is he thinking??? LOL If you want to get cheaper rates you could always get promotional coupons on the net for eharmony,match.com,etc.

It's not just the dating sites, seminars and other garbage that's a rip-off. Dating itself is a ripoff.

I haven't had good luck with dating sites really so far. There are way more guys than girls, seems true of the entire world even though it isn't.

yer on every site its 98 percent men 2 percent woman sadlya big percentage of woman in the world have turned gay leaveing millions of men with out woman if your female you get 1000 men swomping you if your a male you get one a month if your lucky.

Yeah It's true unfortunately. I don't want to mope but it's tough being a guy sometimes. Even as a young, good looking guy, honestly most hot girls meet some guy in person and they're taken. The best girls, the ones I really want, don't need to be on dating sites to find guys. They get hit on enough in person. I'm pretty shy, though, and I only follow "fortune favors the bold" with my career, not with my personal life. So I don't really have much luck with the girls I want because I never pursue them, I just leave that to some other guy. Then I'm stuck on dating sites finding what's left over. The quality of guys you will meet on dating sites is often very good. I'm not saying most guys are good, that's retarded, most guys are douchebags. But if 10% of the guys on a dating site are good guys, only a 1-3% of the girls are any good. There are a lot of shy guys who are really nice, good looking guys, but if a guy doesn't have the guts to go and hit on girls, we don't get anywhere. If a hot girl doesn't have the guts to hit on guys, HEY, no problem, the guys will hit on her! It's not exactly a fair world in that respect

They've done some objective studies and literally found that 90% of people on some of these dating sites are guys. So all of the odds are stacked against you. I have better luck than most because I usually rate in the top 10% of guys as far as looks go, on sites like HotOrNot or whatever, so I get a lot of girls who click yes to me and a fair number of messages. But it's nothing to brag about, most of the girls turn out to be ones I wouldn't really want to date anyway. In my view the other guys are luckier, less false hope. Don't mean to sound depressing but false hope is worse than no hope at all sometimes.

(Free) Plenty of Fish: I currently use this for maybe 7weeks, tons of men, not a lot of women. I get 3-4 contacts a week but have only met maybe 3-4 of mutual interest and those have generally been poor fits for various reasons like kids, having kids etc. The decent women are INUNDATED by the guys and it's hard to get their attention...especially with so many guys that are on there lying like crazy (so I've been told.).

I agree that POF tends to have fewer professional women and men, a lot of people that are there because $90 is A LOT of money to spend for a dating site to them. With that said however, the gal I'm going out with Tues. from there and I are both kinda well-off so there is a big variety.

Sadly, I am probably going to give match.com a try although when I filled out a profile there but hadn't yet paid, I started getting "winks" from hotties (fake profiles) to try to get me to "sign up" sleazy but I've heard they are the best pay-site. Might have to swallow my disgust over the tactic, the money is incidental.

You need to join a singles group where you can network, meet people, get introduced friends of friends type stuff. I am working on this myself. For my age group, I'm not going to wow women with my looks although I'm not bad looking....the problem is that everything else can be lied about. I have the same problems getting traction on-line with the women I want to meet, just too many guys chasing them. I'm batting about 1 for 25 on emails that I have sent out to women on there, most of my dates are women that have picked me out which actually doesn't happen there so much.

hell yer i met a fat chick that hadf six kids and all she was interested in was a bloke with a good job to suport her and the kids she wasent nice looking eather i told her that she should take what she can get lololol.
