on dating
older dating is different from younger dating. beauty and youth are exchangable commodities i think the internet works for the young
but i am 59. here is a great story (short) why i dont date on the internet.
this is a harmony special.
happened bout 5 years ago.
so we did the harmony.com we did the email we did the phone we did the photo exchange after a few months i wanted to do video/computer but she said no, she did not know anything bout them and we could shop for one when i came to nashville. met her in the parking lot of white castle in nashville.
a one eyed hunchback very good at photo air brush work. very good at giving lots of affirmation as to her desirability and looks.
i did not say a word, had a good visit wined and dined her. in the morning very early, drove my rental car to memphis to see my uncle and never came back.
stupid no more.

I DO NOT like EHarmony, I once filled out their stupid profile thing and after wasting an hour of my life, it told me I had no hope of ever finding someone.

Eharmony is a rip off.

But not all people on the internet are liars.
But I have had similar experiences as you...but they turned out to be married men. Boy some will really lie about being married. Used to be able to check that out online.
Most of the singles were looking for casual sex, and figured someone on a dating site might be desperate.I disagree about it being different when one is older than younger. A lot of the older men want a 20 year old, and don't really care if an older woman takes good care of herself, or is even attractive, they want the college girl.

I think Match.com refreshes its data base for you after you renew, then watch it go cold for awhile.

I dont do internet dating sites, and dont need someone to hook me up with someone. Im very capable of getting my own self in trouble, if I wanted to, lol, without someone else doing it for me.

I tried the online dating crap... and that is exactly what it was. Most of the men were either married or seperated and looking to get laid only
I went onto myspace to keep in touch w/friends (and a couple of family members) and 4 months later I met my husband there LOL
we started out as friends and it grew from there. We were married 6-16-06
Dating sites i think put too much pressure on people. They go on these sites with the intention of finding someone to be in a relationship with. It was sooooo much easier and nicer starting as friends and letting it grow.

Isn't Myspace just having a personal page, and how does one "meet" someone on there?
