- My uncle has drunk beer a lot recently. Last night at 11:30 he came home drunk again, his wife gently reminded him not to repeat this. He slapped her and told her to get lost. She got really mad, she cried and said nothing, then she went to another room to sleep.

- What would you have done if you were in his wife's situation?

I'd leave and never look back.

If she allows him to asault her without any consequence, I would be afraid for her future. A slap today will be a fist tomorrow.

Being drunk is never an excuse to hit anyone.

She needs to be in a safe place. I suggest either a family member or a Womens Refuge.

Called the cops, had him arrested, and been at my lawyer's office when it opened the next morning.

I don't give second chances when it comes to that.

Leave? Oh hell no! The one who is going to be inconvenienced is NOT the victim. A night behind bars will help him sober up. And packing his crap up will be wonderful therapy for my anger. We'll deal with division of property in the morning. For now he can take his clothes off the porch/lawn.

And the TRO would be served on him by noon.

Don't choose men like this to begin with. And don't have any kids with this guy either.
