I think we need to air out our "room" - it's pretty ripe from all the use it's gotten lately.
Hey, we're decent bullshi*tters, but you can do only so much original online BS without any offline reinforcement... Give us some credit here! Just talked about it a few hours ago!
It must depend on the state... I've never had any trouble with our DMV and have renewed online for years.
I have always renewed in person at the courthouse. I've never lived more than a 10 minute drive from the courthouse so it's no biggie. I don't actually have to go to the DMV, just the county clerk's office. We are finally getting new plates this year, and I think I'm one of the 5 people who actually like them. However, my plates don't expire until July and I don't plan on living here by then.

And I admit, I usually wait until the very last minute so I have to go in person. One time I completely forgot until I was driving past the courthouse on my way back to work from lunch. It was the last day of the month. Called my boss and told her I'd be late getting back. Then I had to go back home and get the paperwork. I need to stop procrastinating, but I'll do that later...
Meh, as if I don't know you'll be freezing your rear even more!
