Well I received a rejection text this morning and I followed up with a message on her voicemail because (perfect, people)

this advise is courtsy of city data boy (the 19 yr old who never has had a date)
What I was trying to say is this: It's probably a bad idea to call someone 4 times a day. That might ruin your chance with someone.
But there are other times when something you don't do might prevent you from having a date (example: not asking someone out, not acting a certain way, not doing a certain thing)

Maybe you could start a thread about proper dating etiquette. That would involve your basic dos and don'ts. Like don't just talk about yourself. Act interested in your date. Don't dump your problems on your date, etc.

Rather than taking dating advice from a 19 year with absolutely zero experience in anything let alone dating, people could do a little google search;
I watch and read the news too. I meet people like anyone else. Out of thousands of friends, acquaintances, neighbors, I have heard of 2 murders, which were family related, but not boyfriend/husband murders. I don't know, maybe you are seeking out these stories or googling "women murdered by boyfriend". I'm not downplaying the violence. I'm just saying that I rarely hear about it in my circle of aquaintences. I was brought up in a family that never hit, including extended family and friends. So maybe I have had a nicer upbringing than most. I hear that when people have grown up with issues, sometimes they find those issues their whole life.
Let's put it this way. I know of NO ONE who died from lung cancer related to smoking. Not a one. But I've heard of thousands who have. So I played my cards in a safe manner and quit smoking.
Same thing here. If I feel something is going to hurt me I'm not gonna pursue it. If that makes me a wimp or a drama queen, so be it.
Hey, if you want to be paranoid about people who don't act controlling or angry, suddenly snapping and killing you, be my guest. I'm going to keep living my life without unneeded worries.
Good for you!
We all have our "things". I let my kids play outside by themselves and other parents think I'm nuts. *shrug* We all have a personal comfort level and we shouldn't be derided for it.
I meant less fortunate when it comes to dating. I didn't mean less fortunate financially.
My post remains the same. Being unreceptive to advice and being so sure you are right is *not* less fortunate.
