Who said short hair is polished? It's just short. There are dozens of polished hairstyles and options if you have more hair to deal with.
I think you should do what you want. After all, you have to look in the mirror and like what you see.

I took the advise! I had my hair cut, just a little past my shoulders and had long layers put in it for fullness. I love it! And quite happy I did it. I feel pretty today. My husband liked it too but he is noticing a lot of change in me. I'm dressing differently these days, my make-up is perfect, I'm drinking protein shakes to shed about 5 lbs, and now my hair feels great. I think he thinks that I'm on the prowl. Not that I haven't thought about it especially after what he did to me but I don't play the tit for tat game. I do these things for ME! And the next thing I'm doing is that I'm signing up for ballroom dancing. Yeah, I know, I sound like "it's all about me" but I can assure you that I would never hurt my husband. I just feel like I need to do some things for me. I fish a lot with my husband, in fact I love to fish, but every single week-end, 7 hours each day, is getting a little tiresome for me and I want to explore other hobbies.
Anyway, I'm happy with the hair results. I feel great, I look great, and it's doing wonders for my attitude!!!!

You are awesome! And no, you are not making it sound like "it's all about you" in fact, it seems like it has never been all about you, and you are realizing that you need to do stuff that will make you feel good--there's nothing wrong with that.

May I suggest you invite your husband to ball room dancing? If he says yes then maybe you will find something new in common to help heal your wounds. If he declines then he wont have a new reason to clain your on the prowl.
Hopefully you both can sit down and work through his cheating. This is a dangerous time for both of you.
I love long hair but also think sholder length is great, as long as you can put it up a bit to keep cool on those hot days.

The Dangerous times I speak of will depend on how he percieves all your new and wonderful changes. If he thinks your on the prowl what would be his response and then your response. If he thought your doing some of them to keep his interest all the better. He is guilty and feeling it, your self esteem has been damaged by his actions and your trying to heal yourself. Without good comunication and trying to include him in some of your changes the wrong message may be sent unintentionally and begin the sprial towrds divorce. All we can hope is he is smart enough to see the fun and benefits of your new interests.

Not only have I done the aforementioned stuff. I also have two new additions to the family. I have two puppies! They are so cute and loveable and they bring me a lot of joy! My husband loves them as well! After dinner, we both get on the floor and play with them. Our relationship is good, just not the same. I suppose it never will be, but it's not bad. Other than his lying and cheating, he's not so bad.

40 is NOT old, and long hair is definitely a turn on for a lot of guys. I'd have to see what you looked like in order to really form an opinion, but sight unseen, I'd say don't cut it.

I am happy you cut your hair & love it! That was a great choice.
I hope you & your Hubby are doing great. You two will work out as long as he doesn't lie or cheat anymore. Be careful about that, please. Guard your heart without hurting his.
