It's true! My daughter did Match for a month, found the same men, same responses, same bare-chested photos and of course ALL of them want to "sweep you off your feet"... but really can't even put an entire grammatically correct sentence together when emailing a perspective date. It's quite sad and funny all at the same time.
"Dude, when did you get here? We should meet up". That was my former project mate who just got off the phone with me. She somehow learned about me from other guys in Jersey. We worked together till 2008. She is Indian, but American-born and enjoyably sarcastic.
From the ten minute chat I learned she is still dating guys she sees off match.com
I shot the question: "So, how's that going?"
"Geez, don't get me started. After two profiles they all sound similar. Hi, I'm here coz I work a lot, I'm x years old, I'm athletic, people think I'm intelligent, funny, down to earth blah blah blah blah"
I hadn't laughed so hard in ages, folks. Her word delivery was just priceless. I actually stepped back and let out one of the biggest of guffaws and she was giggling too.
Then she goes, "It's just annoying."
And starts again, "Oh my God, I gotta tell you about the guys who post pictures without a shirt and their biceps"
"Then the other set of guys who babble endlessly about their stock investments"
And then, she stops again, "It's annoying"
I had a first hand narration about the majority of male profiles on match, which sound lame, to be honest. And I couldn't resist sharing it here
She sounds annoying. But then again, she's Indian, so..
wait, you don't know her? how did you talk to her?
We all worked for Bank of America prior to the Lehman crash. The I took the exit chute into a crazy cross-country journey through the mid-west, then back to the carolinas and now New York all over again.
I haven't seen her in close to three years now. I'm gonna have to meet her and get more fun tales, she sure will have lots, from the guys she meets.
