Actually, I'm on my third marriage, just like my wife.......but those divorces weren't due to cheating on either of our parts. What I've read in this Thread is the cheating that is done BEFORE right before the wedding day!!
As far as your statement, "I took the decision to marry far more seriously than you did".....just because my wife and I have been thru two divorces that means we didn't take our marriages seriously? All I can say is, "ok, whatever!"
Ok, time now for this Baby Boomer to retire to my lounge chair and take my meds. :-)
I took marriage very seriously from the time I was a teen to the point I got married. I waited and chose very carefully. That wasn't the case for you the 1st or 2nd time.
My point, tho, isn't about how serious we take our marriages or this thread addressing cheating, but to dispel the idea that age (in your case) is a wisdom trump card. To state the obvious, age alone does not bring wisdom. Now, if we both had the same skill set and the same tools, you would have presently yielded a more crafted product (wisdom in this case) if you have 10 or 20 years on someone. But, you shouldn't assume we all have the same skill set and available tools. We clearly do not. So, what takes you 10-20-30 years to accomplish (a successful marriage, wisdom, etc) may take the more skillful individual with a better tool set far less time.
I realize this is an old post I started. I logged in here and saw I had a few reps clicked on, so I read a few posts. Most were about cheating, or as I stated one last fling. Yes I would consider that cheating as they were in relationships at the time they came over. Do I feel bad that these things happened, No. Im a guy minding my owm business and they came knocking. But here is an instance that happened that I dont really feel they same way about.
I ran into this girl I havent seen in 15 years or so. I was walking around the mall, cutting through this store to get to the mens department, and there she was. She was working in this store. Wow, she still looked good. We went to the same school together, but she was 4 years behind me. Years back a friend of mine use to like her sister. He didnt have a car so I would take hime over there, and we all hung out. The girl I first mentioned ( the younger sister)was there. But at this time she was much too young for me, but I found out later that she liked me, nothing come of that and she married another of our friends, and is still married to this day. Back to the story. She had been married for some time now when I ran across her in the mall. Every so often I would see here in there, and we talked. I could tell from a few comments, her home life was a little rocky.
Move ahead a few months after a few talks. She was coming over my was to do some shopping, ( which was 50 or so miles away) and wanted to stop by. I know married women dont just want to stop over. She knew the area where I lived. One saturday, a knock on the door, I open the door, and she is standing there in a long trench coat, with her long flowing curly hair. She came in, She had nothing else on under that coat Im not sure if she really had some shopping to do or not, or just came over for this. Thinking back at what we did. I dont think shopping was on her mind.
Once I met my wife, I was off the market. But once I was engaged, I was amazed. The women came out of the woodwork, not being subtle in the least. I mean, we're talking aggressive like you wouldn't believe. Never succumbed, but there were some offers that were tempting to say the least.

Ever see the porm flick where the somewhat drunk girl is knocking on your door at 2:00 in the morning, after having a few with her gfs. That also happened to me, twice. Sounds like a great thing to happen to a guy. Not always.
