My brother makes good money in an important job in corporate America. He was always popular with the ladies partially because he made such good money and was so successful in his career. But now the company he works for is having some difficult times and has offered him the chance to go to part time three days a week, 8 hours a day, 24 hours a week with a thirty percent pay cut. He is seriously thinking about it and wants to kick back and relax on his two new days of freedom (Thursday and Friday).

He makes good money and will easily be able to survvive with his possible new pay cut.

What would you think of a 38 year old man in the peak of his career who only wanted to work 3 days a week and spent Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday basically kicking back and taking it easy? Would his leisurely work schedule make him less attractive when you are working 40 hours plus?

I want to know what job he works, so I can get the same gig!

I'm a guy here, but I was thinking that he might want to start a side business in consulting. What field is he in? This could be the perfect opportunity to build up a side business that could eventually replace his job. By the way, thats a forward thinking company that will cut his hours along with his pay.

I think that's great. It's unfortunate that people have to spend more time at their jobs than with their loved ones.

He would be very attractive to me, it sounds as if settling down is at the back of his mind. He's not hurrying to fill the space the two days have left, because he makes a good salary. Maybe he also realizes that the pace corporate America drives a person at is pretty brutal, and he wants a break.

I'd say "more power to him"! He'd be the ideal BF as he'd have enough time and won't be stressed out. I can only see a bit of a problem as a husband - he may be home too much... Of course, if he helps out with household chores and errands, that'd be great!

I think that this is only a reflection of what is happening in the economy and I'd say that your brother is much better off than those who've lost their jobs completely.
I hate to say this but I get the feeling that you're actually bragging about your brother's situation as opposed to asking an honest question.

It would make him WAY more attractive to me! A good living and more time is way better than a great living but no time.

What a lucky guy!

I don't think you need to work a 9 to 5 in order to sustain yourself. If you earn enough money to meet your needs with a part time job - Good for you! Who couldn't agree with that?

So long as he didn't spend all his free time doing something I regard as being stupid (like playing WoW), it would be fine to me.
