Actually with a prepay you cant text either.I'm with this poster, as I too, had a prepay phone as a secondary phone once.

I also thought that when you call a cell phone and you hear the rings on your end that means it's turned on. If it goes directly into voice mail without ringing that means it's off.

^yes. And I've heard that prepaid phones only ring once when they're out of minutes.

When you're even semi-savvy with technology it becomes really easy to see through bull**** :P
