Between the Pecans and Pineapples we could call this fruit and nut day - but I'm not sure that really distinguishes it from any other day here.

DC - I know it sucks, but public transport is always a valid alternative. I did it for many, many years in NYC / Westchester County - buses, taxis, trains, subways and good ol' hoofin' it. Yeah, you get wet and nasty in the cold months, you sweat your b*lls off in the summer, you sit around and wait, people look at you like you're a leper, it's crowded...
