Oooh! Oooh! I want to be a fruit!!!

It was a while ago, Cream, when I first mentioned "pineapples" - it was the result of too little sleep and too much partying, I think.

Congrats, BTW!

DC - I know it sucks, but public transport is always a valid alternative. I did it for many, many years in NYC / Westchester County - buses, taxis, trains, subways and good ol' hoofin' it. Yeah, you get wet and nasty in the cold months, you sweat your b*lls off in the summer, you sit around and wait, people look at you like you're a leper, it's crowded...

...on second thought, bust your butt to get that car!

Still haven't got my first yet.
But as for the actual fruit the taste & texture just makes my skin crawl.

Drat! Another dark part of my past revealed.

Hey, times were tough! I just quit my gigolo job and the new position as Porta-John attendant hadn't opened up yet...

Okay I'm pooped. I started at 6:30 and got them (I made two - not going through all that for none to have for myself!) into the oven at 9:15. So much for the gym tonight.

Today is April 15th (make sure those taxes are in the mail) and it's National rubber day - rubber eraser day that is.

Prior to the invention of the rubber eraser, tablets of rubber/wax, sandstone, pumice and even stale bread was used to erase lead/charcoal marks from paper. On April 15, 1770, Joseph Priestly described a vegetable gum which had the ability to rub out pencil marks. He dubbed the substance "rubber."

In 1770, Edward Naime an English engineer, is credited with developing the first widely-marketed rubber eraser. However, rubber in its raw form was perishable and would go bad over time. In 1839, inventor Charles Goodyear discovered the process of vulcanization a method that would cure rubber and make it a durable material. Rubber erasers became common with this advent of vulcanization.
