That may be true after they've gotten to know a woman. But initially, men tend to be nicer the better looking the woman is.

So? Are you saying that a woman who has lost even 5 pounds would not be happier than she was? I know that I feel a lot healthier and happier when I have lost weight. I sure am nicer to people when they appear happy.

I think that's a big part of it--when I lose weight I feel happier, more energetic and just more at peace with the world. When I am in that kind of mood, whether I've lost weight or not, people tend to respond positively. But I do think that men prefer slimmer women and as the world gets fatter, the few remaining thin women are going to get the bulk of the attention.

I would hope that a woman's level of happiness is not based on a number on a scale!

I don't think this behavior is prone to just males. Honestly, I think it's human nature. Even from the time we're kids we're always nicer to the better looking children because they are often the most liked. You want pretty people to like you, so you're nice to them on a sub-conscious level.

Not everyone does this, of course, but i think it's pretty normal/average for anyone, gender really has nothing to do with it.

I never thought of it that way. I have some pretty husky friends that I run around. I KNOW my presence helped with their self esteem and getting some attention. If he likes him.... that guy must have SOMETHING I'm not seeing? You are damn right!!!
