Do you think a couple start to resemble one another after they get married?

For example, I met a couple who I thought were brothers and sisters at first and not a married couple.

I think so... I don't know why but the more you hang around one person the more you start to look like that person... I think it "may" be a pheromone but who knows, nobody has really studied it... but then I see couple who don't look like each other at all... its hard to explain but I do think there is "something" going on... and you don't have to be married either...

People used to say my ex-husband and I look like brother and sister. Well he is from Alabama...

And look at young pics of Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli!

I do think some people start to take on their partner's facial expressions and gestures without realizing it.

I think so, probably based upon shared life experiences. When you're perfectly mated and you share years worth of experiences both happy and sad, you'll accumulate the same laugh lines, crow's feet and general up- or down-cast expressions.

Just a theory of mine, but one that seems to pan out with the long-term couples I've known.
