This is all very presumptious, just because she screens the guys more, doesnt mean a psycho can't get by the system, its called saying what a person wants to hear. A lot of known killers are very charming and the anonymity of the web makes it that more easy. So my point is really no meeting that is based on the internet is 100% safe whether it be a hookup or something more substantial. You have to be careful, meet in a public place, make sure people (friends) know where you are going etc etc.
In my response to you, I was going to say some rapists and killers are regular, normal, next-door neighboor guys who are actually very intelligent. Yes, these specific individuals can get to anyone - they will target women looking for serious relationships, friends, sex, it won't matter.
But most are not this masterful, and thrive off of opportunity. At least with extensive screening and stricter preferences (which I believe most women looking for a serious boyfriend will have), they will sift out these other guys. At the very least, you're decreasing your chances.
