Last night my ladyfriend said to me, "You're always surrounded by a flock of pretty girls!"
My reaction?
But then today someone in 007.5's thread mentioned the Islamic custom of having a harem and living a Hugh Hefner-esque life. I immediately flashed into my present situation where I'm in comfortable, loose clothing and Chinese slippers, usually surrounded by pretty girls all night, I'm sipping my Scotch and then slowly, painfully, my atrophied brain made the final connection with my ladyfriend's comment.
...by then of course her original comment was twelve hours old.
LESSON LEARNED: Never try to reignite the previous night's fires. Instead, carry out the ashes and build a new fire for the new day.
I'm getting better about not letting this crap get to me.......
They should come up with some kind of boot camp for CD.......
Unfortunately, I suffer from this IRL too. I would have made a terrible counselor or therapist. I just absorb too much of the emotion around me (or what I perceive to be turmoil and despair) and it brings me down, especially if I can't help.

That was my problem the other day - the tank overflowed because I forgot to empty it the previous day.
At least they don't sell "bottles of sleep," so I'm inclined to believe it somewhat...
Perhaps what none of those studies mention is the quality of sleep. For some people, small amounts of quality sleep are all that is needed for a long, healthy life. The 8-hour myth should have been busted long ago, but persists to this day.
You can train your body, within limits of course, to require less sleep. You can also train yourself to control your dreams and therefore become healthier both physically and mentally. The sleep state is still a mystery, no matter how many studies are performed.
