Yeah, I like cards that are funny and speak to a persons traits, they relate. All the mothers day cards are sappy though, not that there is anything wrong with that but they're not me.
Since I was a babe carried upon your hip
Your butt has been big as an old battleship
Through sickness you nursed me
Through times good and bad
Now please - would you introduce
Me to my Dad?
Shouldn't there be a point & time when you should no longer need to recognize Mother's Day? I mean once a mom always a mom (dad too), but when the kids grow up, move out, start their own families the mom & dad are no longer mothering & fathering.
Now I think that just sounds weird for someone to say that.
Speaking of Mother's Day does anyone find the card selection annoying? I need to come up with different ideas, perhaps go back to making my own cards.
Always. I hate trying to find the right card - I'm not a sappy person, and I prefer my cards to say how I really feel. So lately, I just find one that looks pretty (for my mom) and then write what I want to say. That seems to work better.

My daughter makes mine each year. She's been doing that since she was a very young little girl. It means so much to both of us when she gives me her homemade card. It wouldn't be Mother's Day without the card.
I told Mrs. Chow that I was gonna cook dinner for her tonight.
A mother's day sorta gift.
