Probably. It landed square on our neighbor's deck, but luckily nobody was outside.
Because it didn't cause any damage to our house, the insurance company won't even pay to have it removed as debris. It was an act of God, they said. God wanted to squash their fence, I guess.

Sometimes timber goes down in my forest. I cut it up to burn in my woodburner or fireplace the following year.
JJ, at least that branch wasn't blown into your home, Thank God.

My husband cut it up with a chainsaw, and we hauled the majority of the brush to the curb. Luckily our (free) annual brush collection is in two weeks, so we don't have to pay for that. We saved the thickest, best pieces of wood, and my husband is going to have them milled into lumber. We saved some other pieces to burn in the fireplace, but we still have a partial cord left from winter. We'll split this and stack it, but I don't know how long it has to dry before it's good to burn.
I'm afraid the damage is going to kill the tree, in which case we'll probably cut it down ourselves. But yes, we are very grateful that no one was hurt and our property was not damaged. Although if it was damaged a little, like a broken window, the insurance would chip in. But be careful what you wish for, right?

Looks like there is some disease in the tree. Might be worthwhile to seek the opinion of an arborist to see if there are other trees that are not healthy.

If natural disasters don't want anything to do with the place that should tell you something.
