Yeah, it should be "special" enough not to require a coupon.

Good grief, people. By all means don't bother with anything nice when you ask a woman out. Maybe you shouldn't bother asking them out in the first place. Think of all the trouble it would save you!

Looks like you did not read the part where I said, "Sure it is reasonable for both people to want to impress the other." But thats ok. I am saving myself a lot of trouble by not asking you out, thank you.

Secondly, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. If you would just stop worrying about what the other side should or shouldn't do, and concentrate on making the best effort, you may wind up pleasantly surprised.
Wow, I'm so glad not to be dating.

Thank you!!! and yes, be very glad you're not dating!

When did I discount the value of body language and non-verbal cues? I have post a few pages back that explains that I strongly believe in those things. And i'm not in the dating game anymore, but when I was, trust me I had no issues, you should really stop assuming based on a few posts (you clearly didnt even read all of them)

good call robee.
people are overthinking and worrying about way too much. stop thinking it's always one sided and that one side has to impress the other side.
i do notice all this crap goes away with age for the most part.... usually the foolish games are played by the younger crowds.

Coupons on a first date??? Yeah... not that romantic. I think if he pulled out coupons - I would just say - let me take care of the bill, seriously, it's on me! I mean - I always offer to pay - but if someone needs to use coupons on a first date - I think I'd feel like they really couldn't afford to pay! I'd rather just go to the park and get hot dogs.

agreed coupons on a first date is more a 'you really can't afford to date' gesture, I wouldnt blame a girl for not being down with that, thats so sketch.

I agree that a guy using a two for one coupon for a first date is not going to impress all that much. Though if a lady I was taking out, whipped one out, when the time came to pay, I would be favorably impressed. It would show me she was a clever gal.
