I find that hard to believe, especially the male posters who have thousands of posts. Most posters who have thousands of posts on just one board alone, usually don't have much of a social life.

I don't think posting on city-data and picking up women have a negative correlation.
Also, maybe only the posters who were successful picking up women decided to vote.
Lastly, your sample group is like 30 males, which is not representative of all the "men here on city-data."

Maybe by making the poll public, those who are ashamed to admit that they get turned down decided not to take part.

As Oglethorpe on Aqua Teen Hunger Force put it, "They admit they eat their own farts. Admission is the first step in recovery."
I've asked out 6 different women since I getting the guts to do so.
After being turned down and getting angry over it, I decided to just go with the flow of things and let this happen on its own.
No need to risk having a court order thrown on me due to some door getting broken or windshield getting shattered.
Bringing things like that up above usually makes "getting rejected" and "labeled as a virgin" less of a funny thing and keeps you from becoming the butt of some running joke.
In the meantime, hit the gym whenever I can, and take as many breaks from the 18-wheeler as possible.
It's a nice living for now, but I know one of these days I'll want to a fine woman to cook dinner for.

For casual sex, I go for every "9~10" that I see (when possible). With that strategy, you can be damn sure that I have a very high failure rate. But every now and then I get lucky and it sure is worth it.

I will only speak for myself here when I tell you that you’re, Bloody spot on, as the British say. It’s hard to be let down by somebody well under one’s level, and if they do leave, who cares? My God that’s probably the saddest thing that I’ve ever written, and I generally write some pretty depressive things.

No, but I don't ask a lot. I am pretty cautious about whom I ask out, and generally know if I am going to get a yes.
Dating under my league? Maybe.
Or you could say that if I chat up a woman and it does not go well, I don't ask, and if it does, I do ask, knowing that I am likely to get a yes.
I have enough success that I am not worried about it.

I have gotten everything from "Ewwww you are ugly", "You are not my type", "I already have a boyfriend", "I don't date outside of my race", "I am a lesbian", "You are too young for me" and "You are too old for me".
|
how do you know this? do you hand out a post-rejection questionnaire?
i have never actually been told "No, I don't like you" despite the fact that I've been rejected plenty. They might lie about their availability, or send obvious signals that keeps me from ever asking, but most frequently they say "Yes" and then flake out later.

Yeah, maybe other people do more attempts, I don't know about you but I don't meet new women I'd like to date every day.
|
If you don't ask then it does not count in statistics.

Yes, it can be. There is no guarantee a guy will be accepted regardless of how many or little attempts he makes.

They have to be 100 different women.
You should get 1 out of 100 atleast.
