I hate to sound dismissive, but this is one of those things where if you have to ask why it's appealing, then you'll never understand the appeal no matter what answer someone gives you.
I thought I would find it appealing as some men have acknowledged here. But when I saw it 1st hand it really did nothing. Perhaps its in the context that matters most. Since these were 2 attention grabbing girls, it really did NOTHING. So if its just for the illusion or imagining a threesome opportunity that isn't going to materialise, I have to say I don't really find that reason enough. But I know alot of men that find pretending a good enough excuse for it.
Personally I think its the pretentiousness element and disingenuous attention seeking that turns me right off the whole phenomenon.
