No A/C, window units.........time to move to the 20th century where central air rules.

Saw that too. Don't know where Thursday lives but I'm wondering if she was looking at the heat index.

I'm doing inventory on all my tools to ready them for sale, both of which suck. So I procrastinate here.

Isn't it better to drag them after all? They're not cheap and I'm sure you'll want to repurchase them.

Actually it's the weather info on my start page and it can be looked at hour by hour. It says 97 actually, but real feel temperature of 107 with a 92% humidity. Add 10 degrees to every temperature to get the correct weather heat inside my house because the sun sets in the front yard and my picture window.

As afar as airconditioning the house didn't have it when I bought it. I have a window airconditioner but use it sparingly because I have to go around and shut all the windows and then whenever I do that the temperature always drops. Plus the electric company hadn't read my meter in over a year and their guesstimation was WAY off and I got hit with a whopper of a bill. I use a primative system of melting ice cubes on myself in front of the fan.

Our temps will be bouncing up that way the remainder of the week. The unit we live faces west so from 2pm-til its all sun. Fortunately it only gets around 75 inside, the A/C may come on 1 or 2 times during the daylight hours.
I get the same benefit living between floors in the summer as I do in the winter.

The heat index across the river from my old city got up to 126 recently. In other parts of Iowa, it got up to 130.

I'm so bummed I missed that!

Turns out it wasn't such a bad time to move. I'm bummed that I missed out on the nasty thunderstorms, but I'm not sorry to miss the ongoing floods and sauna.
