Awww...sweet.
I hate to say it, I can't relate. I got an epidural. However my husband did support me during the pushing part.

Honestly, hehe...I was more mortified at the thought of having a needle inserted near my spinal column, than I was of going through the pain. Seriously, I'd much, much, much rather go through the pain (and did), than have an epidural. I had two emergency c-sections (one after 55 min of pushing) followed by 3 natural births. Honestly, I was just so relieved to not have to have more c-sections, that it was worth the pain. Honestly, I have an extremely high tolerance for pain though. Everyone's pain tolerance is different...mine's just naturally high. That doesn't mean that it's not some of the worst pain I've ever been through, but it didn't last that long, you know? Also, I'm horribly competitive....LOL and I was bound and DETERMINED that I could do it without the pain meds. I know...but...yeah.

I think it's the noise, the innapropriate timing and the reactions to the smell that make them funny! LOL!

Well, that's certainly commandable. I started screaming for that needle the minute I felt a real pain and honestly, the shot was nothing. I have tremendous respect for natural birth givers.

Yeah, so did I, but I was in a military hospital and they sent the anesthesiologist home. WTF?! So I gave birth naturally, but I was NOT a happy camper, and everyone around me was almost as miserable as I was.
To steer back on topic, I was going to mention earlier that if the OP is turned off by farts, then he will NOT want to see what goes on in a birthing room. Sometimes you get more than you bargained for. I worried about that weeks beforehand, but that was probably the farthest thing from my mind while pushing. And that was one thing that went in my favor during the birthing process. I kept it clean.

Well ladies, at least ONE of these male posters, who are sooo turned off by farts, is NEVER having children anyway....never has any intention of impregnating someone, so it's not likely that he'll ever have to witness... ahem, those sort of accidents. LOL Yeah, you think farts are gross?

LOL.....see, another part of my "demeanor" if you will. My labors all lasted at LEAST 36 hrs.... frickin ridiculous and I had heard horror stories about things women in labor say, heard some of them scream and cuss. While hearing those stories, I said, "Oh I can't...oh I'd be so embarrassed to make a spectical of myself in front of people. OMG, what would they THINK?!" Yeah...I know, lame.
While I was in the hospital laboring with my first one, several women came in, went through labor, screamed and hollered, had their babies and there I was....still laboring away. GRRR That hollering only strengthened my reserve to be "quiet" even further. I never did holler....just moaned sometimes, an occasional tear would leak down my face, but I think the focusing on keeping myself under control, helped me to keep myself in kind of a hypnotic state and helped to keep the pain under control. I just focused on what the pain was for and what was going on with my body.
I don't have ANYTHING against women who don't go natural though. I mean, people have their own acceptable levels of pain and no one but the person who is going through that labor, knows what that acceptable level is. If you need pain meds, you should GET pain meds!

No one's gonna believe this, but I have never farted in front of a guy and I was married for 5 years! For some reason, I could be letting em rip all day, as soon as I get together with a guy, it's like all bodily functions except peeing stop. My last bf said to me "come on, I know you fart, just admit it" and I was all "No, I don't. I don't even s***, I'm perfect!!!!!" Course that was the last time I hung out with him, hee hee.
