Default Handling compliments...

How well do you handle compliments? Are you modest and shy when people compliment you? Is it easy for you to accept praise?...How about vague compliments like being called "sweet" or "nice?"... Do you like to be complimented in your specialty areas? (Where people praise you for being a "good cook" or a "great writer" or a "whiz" when it comes to finances and retirement planning etc.)...Did your parents give you praise when you were growing up? Or is it all pretty "foreign" to you?

I get a lot of compliments which have made me indifferent to them, overall.

But there is only one which really kicks my engine up to this day.

"Great hair"

For the lions, it's all about the manes Mrs Chamataka even casually puts her fingers on my head and feels it up, even in public places like train stations.

Cocky
1. "Of course", "You know it", "Did you expect anything less?"
Sincere
2. "Thank you", "You're so kind"
Humble
3. "No, it's just the lighting in here", "Nah, it's just the shirt"
Funny/Attractive
4. "Are you hitting on me"

Usually a smile and "Thank you."

If I am feeling silly (and I know the person well), something like, "Of cawse, dahlink!"

Nice! I always loved my husband's hair too! And he said he loved my smile and green eyes!

People who don't accept compliments gracefully will tick off an awful lot of people. I have never understood this. How hard is it to simply say, "thank you so much," when people say something nice to you? When people compliment me, I always say, "Hey, you made my day, thanks so much."

When I tried to compliment my Mother at times she would say: "Oh...you're just trying to butter me up!" She said this in a joking and playful way...If someone complimented her on her cooking she would usually say: "Oh it just tasted good because you were hungry!" It was very hard for her to accept compliments. She "blew them off" in playful ways.
