Just curious, what are your all-time favorite romantic movies? Below please find my own personal fave romantic film, of all time! (FWIW, this movie almost completely changed my views, on love, romance, and relationships) While admittedly perhaps not 100% realistic by today's standards and social norms -- or even the norms of the historical era in question --, the female main character lead presented in this film to me in a way represents the idealized, perfected female archetype for a potential romantic relationship. All in all, IMO, a perfect 10/10, very touching and heartwarming love story, and the kind of romantic film that I honestly wish very much Hollywood would make a lot more of

Does anyone else have any other favorite romantic-themed movies, that they think shows or symbolizes, what they think of as portraying the hypothetical "perfect" relationship?

I just watched John Carpenter's "Starman" last night...

I don't think I've ever wanted to be impregnated by an alien so much in my entire life.

"Aquamarine" with Sara Paxton and "Monte Carlo" with Selena Gomez. Oh and "Pride and Prejudice" with Keira Knightley!

I know many people will groan, but I love Sleepless in Seattle. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are adorable together.

Shoot, I didn't read well enough. Sleepless in Seattle doesn't embody the ideal relationship to me; it's just a sweet, make-believe story. I'll have to think about a better choice to answer your question.

I watched Sleepless in Seattle a few weeks ago, and it occurred to me that we never actually get to see the two of them together interacting until the end. What if they hate each other?

My usual faves are When Harry Met Sally and the 1994 version of Persuasion with Ciaran Hinds and Amanda Root.

Forest Gump and the Notebook. If one of these movies are on I watch it and then figure out why did I do that to myself while trying to figure out how to drown myself in my toilet bowl, lol..

Serendipity, hands-down. I don't know why I love it so much, but I do. I guess I enjoyed the entire premise of the story, and I live close to Manhattan, where it was filmed.

BTW I'm a guy (and a straight guy at that)...
