Women are more sensitive than men......
On the subject/topic of conversation.
Dating wise.......
A few times I can recall, a topic was questioned. Each time I was only showing an interest in them. One that comes to mind, was when I was seeing this girl and I asked her if she liked the clothing shops in the City we were in at the time and if she had a favorite one.
My reason for asking was two fold, one was showing an interest in her and two she had a b/day coming up and was trying to think of a present! anyway for whatever reason she took objection to it.
There have been other examples. Never once had this issue with a male friend, many women seem highly sensitive to a topic of conversation.
So lets hear it. What do you like talking about in early stages of dating and what don't you like talking about?

Your example....I can't imagine a women taking offense to an innocent question like that....she must have been an exception....I think most woman are very open to and actually hope for more communication and conversation with men.....and yes...I do feel that women are generally more sensitive than men about a lot of things(even that's debateable from what I've seen on these forums)...but conversation is definately not one of them

You're just dealing with overly sensitive women.
There are women in this world you are not meant to have relationships with.
I can have the same convo and we end up talking about who got the better bargain.

That's mighty bizarre! The only reason I can come up with is that she might've freaked out thinking you were gay or something 'cause most men don't give rat's patootie about stuff like that.

In general women are more sensitive than men...I think its actually a biological fact. With that said some women are way more sensitive than others and I think you came across an obvious over the top sensitive one.

Actually, I've never went to a clothing store by myself to buy my GF clothing. If I wanted to buy her some clothes or lingerie or something, I would take her with me because I don't want to F up and she knows what she likes moreso than I do, even though it probably is a gift.
