Its hard to determine that actual average per year, unless I actually calculate it. There was a 1-2 year period where I had over 20 (when I was living in Japan), and some years 0 (I was voluntarily abstinent at the time). When I was married and in a committed relationship with her before that, only 1. In my early 20's, I was averaging about 3 a year.
