I don't lie or hide anything. Some information is relevant and a date may ask about things. I answer honestly. Of course, that requires them to ask- not all information is unthinkingly volunteered.

Weight- I'm 195-205 and will always put down 195. My ideal weight for my body type is 185 but I'm happy as long as I'm under 200.
Height- I list my height with my shoes on at 6' 1/2". I'm 6' in bare feet.

"I feel so guilty!"

A very long time ago, I lied to a very beautiful girl in jest...I was just joking around. But it really affected her, apparently. So I just don't lie anymore.

Unfortunately, that doesn't stop girls from lying to me. it's so emotionally draining.

Honestly, the thought of lying about myself has never occurred to me, not because I assume they are as smart as I am and would find out, but because I am bluntly honest all the time, even if it hurts my chances with the person; so it's a matter or ethics.

But I suspect that being so bluntly honest has hurt me A LOT of times in my success with going on dates or getting the second date.

Isn't it just too much effort to lie?

I mean then you have to KEEP lying and remember who you told what...

Call me lazy but I could never be bothered with it all.

never lied online but once dated a girl who on her profile described herself as professional employed as a middle school teacher and dance coach, non-smoker, and drank wine only on rare occassions.

a month in found out from her she had been let go prior to the school year ending, smoked like a chimney and well i thought the wine bottle was permanently attached to her hand.

she's still on a certain dating website and maintains all her "lies" on her profile.

I haven't lied online or in real life. I don't get lying in dating profiles. The person is going to find out the truth eventually. I guess people think if they can lie enough to get someone to meet them that the other person will be so captivated they won't care about the lie? Lying is always a deal breaker for me.

I used to "lie" during first dates by giving off the impression of being "cheap". This way I weed out all the entitled folk.
