Not to anyone in particular but just want to say how joyful it is to read a thread where there is so much happiness !

Congratulations to those of you who worked for decades to make your marriage work and to keep it fresh and new and still exciting!

Close! He was totally disinterested in love, sex, and intimacy. It wasn't ED, that can be treated. It was a total lack of interest on his part that went back for decades.

Did I say you? I said some people. Not everybody. I guess they didn't teach reading comperhension when you were in school.

So was I. I will never claim to have a perfect marriage (there is no such thing!) it takes a lot of work on both sides.
However, with love and commitment as our foundation in the marriage, we have come a long way since the day we said "I do."
Looking back, I think it was harder in the beginning than today, when we can almost know what the other is thinking before expressing it.

BTW - family and friends think it strange and endearing at the same time that we have our own "baby talk" to this day. Our son and his wife are picking up the habit.

Thank you fashion Girl! There are more than a few love stories around, I assure you.
Little tips: Don't forget to laugh at life and appreciate the little things...instead of being bogged down by apprehensions and dread, all that shall pass in its own time.

No need to be sardonic little one...love and commitment do exist. And no, marriage is not a bed of roses, it takes "respect for others" to have a more satisfying and meaningful life in all aspects.

So, since I will be forever grateful for her putting-up with me, I have placed her on a pedestal, for she is the center of my life, my anchor, support, and love. She is a person on her own, I don't own her, and everything I have or own is hers. I would give my life for her, too
Such a noble proclamation coming from a man, thank you!

Obviously, there are plenty of miserable marriages. I know plenty of people stuck in that situation. But the people responding here to a specific question have no reason to lie. Why would someone miserable in their marriage lie on an anonymous forum? It's not like anyone cares anyway.
Actually the women I'm referring to don't bare their souls standing aorund the water cooler, but for some reason I haven't quite fathomed yet, they do it while I'm training them at the gym. It's always amazed my how many of my clients have used me as a confessor. Sometimes, we'll be on the subject of marriage or they'll be at least talking about their husband when they drop some suprisingly personal tidbit of info, but sometimes they just blurt it out. Like, the other day, this woman I've been training for only three weeks, twice a week. She's finsihing-up on the treadmill and is heading to the lockerroom and goes, "God, a good workout always makes me so horny I can hardly stand it; is that normal?" And I respond that, "well, it's probably not unusual for exercise to get "the juices" flowing and thus make you feel more vital and in touch with your body, and so maybe that's it..."
Then she goes, "I'm gonna go home and dig out the vibrator I guess. Lord knows my husband hasn't been able to get me off for years."
See? I get that kinda stuff all the time. Go figure.

You've made my point, thank you

You don't know a damn thing about any poster on this thread with a long term marriage, so you should quit bothering all of us with your insinuations and negativity.
