I met her at the gym and she knows I do powerlifting; aesthetics really aren't much of a concern to me beyond a certain point. I'm 5'11" and around 210, probably 13% bodyfat. Essentially she wants to "see my abs"; I've never had abs and don't care about it. The one time I did lean out, I felt very weak and lacked energy. I eat extremely well, exercise twice daily and have never been told I'm fat. This is the first time anyone has ever said anything of the sort to me, and it's a bit disturbing. The girl is a professional fitness model, so I understand where she's coming from. After some thought, I contemplated taking steroids to maintain my strength but get to sub-10% bf. An alternative would be going on a severe cut, at the expense of a few goals (weightlifting PRs).

How do you think I should approach this? We have something going here, I'd rather continue it if I can.
You could have a girlfriend urging you to do worse. Apparently you are more into powerlifting than bodybuilding, but you could do the classic "bulk up and then cut" thing. 210 is pretty heavy for 5'11". If it's mostly in leg muscle, OK then.

If you want to date fitness models, you will have to find a way to "maintain the pace" or else "fall out of the formation" so to speak.

It depends on his build. 5'11" 210 on an ectomorph is pretty big. They're not built to be heavy. That same size on a mesomorph would probably look fine.

do not take steroids! This is something that you and her have to discuss, I agree with the posters that say she has to get over it.

I don't know about body types, but my best male buddy is a big guy. He's roughly the same as FB. He works out a lot and has to be super careful because the bigness of him could turn to obesity quick if he's not careful. It's pretty unfair. He works 10x as hard to keep the weight off than most guys I know. My dh is like you. He's 5'll and 170ish lbs.

We actually agree on something. I'll echo this...stay away from steroids. It's no good.

I'm somewhere in-between endo and meso. I can easily gain muscle, but along with that comes a lot of fat. When I played football I was around 255, probably 30 pounds of gut but was cleaning 325 and deadlifting 700, so I took the bad with the good. Now I am very careful to keep the weight down. I could probably lose 5-10 pounds in a couple months, but then what? Strength decreases and abs still probably won't appear.

I'm going to talk to her tonight about this.

I'm almost all ecto. I have wide shoulders and I don't have as much of a hard time putting on muscle. I played football myself. Was a 6'1" 155 lb QB on my high school team.

Do yourself a favor and cut her loose. You don't need someone that shallow.

If you meet someone in a gym, you know from the start you are dealing with someone (at least somewhat) committed to improving or maintaining their physical health and appearance.

That goes both ways, so I'm guessing that was probably her impresssion of you also.

You need to be able to discern whether or not she is just trying to help keep you motivated and on track, or if she has unrealistic expectations of your body type.

Good luck!
