So the soon to be ex & I finished the last of our paperwork & went & filed it.
For those of you who have been divoriced how long did you refer to yourself as divoriced? At what point do you call say " I'm single, etc" You can't call youself divoriced forever. Just curious I've seen people maintain call themselves divoriced year's after thier marriage was finished.
I remain divorced from the first. As far as status it never really leaves you. When I started dating dogwalker and our relationship was "official" that is what we considered our status.
As far as dating... Don't rush into anything serious, trust your gut. If it feels right, enjoy the moment.

It's just a general question not personal. I was already in a relationship before we even filed. Trust me it wasn't rushed.
I think because the forms you fill out everywhere distinguish between single and divorced, most divorced people tend to say they're divorced, regardless of how long ago it happened.

I've seen people who have been dating for someone seriously for year's & still call themselves divoriced. It's like you've been marked for life because your marriage didn't work out. Of course I wanted the opinions of others, why else would I ask?

By the IRS marital status you're married filing jointly, married filing seperately or single. If divorced status isn't important to them, then its not important to me.

Fortunately there is more to life than the IRS.
True. It is more like a chapter in ones life story. While it is part of your life, it may or may not define your life. It is usually considered part of ones personal history. It usually gets you to where you are in life.
I never called myself divorced. It was married, then seperated, then single.
