I just read something online where i learned that a former co-worker's husband , a book keeper, went to jail for embezzling $75,000 from his company. this happened quite awhile ago

I was kind of shocked because the former co worker always portrayed herself and family as their **** didn't stink

what happens to the wife and the house? what is the average case scenario? divorce? did the embezzlement (he wrote checks to himself) reveal a problem with communication in the relationship about money and expectations?

It means he was dishonest, shes done nothing wrong. In addition to jail time he most likely has to pay back the 75k to the company.
