I think I would get one. Like they said in the movie, it doesn't tell you who to love, it just confirms what you already know. I think that even perfectly happy couples have doubts, think about the one that got away. Even if it's just a placebo effect, it would be a comfort to know that the one you're happy with is the one you're meant to love.
I agree. And I also believe that there could be more than one true love in some people's lives, so I think that is a fault with the TiMER. (another poster said that..). I think its very sad at the end, it especially sucks for the sister. I would not get one if I was already in a relationship though. I don't wanna mess it up.

Well, it became available on netflix, so I finally watched it. Very interesting movie indeed. On second thought, after seeing exactly how it would work, I think I would be okay with getting one. I mean, it wouldn't hurt to try.

I was thinking about this movie again today.

I don't think there's such a thing as your one true love. In reality, there are probably at least hundreds if not tens of thousands of people in the world that I could fall in love with and live happily ever after. There has to be, considering all the variables that have to come together to meet even one. And then you have to consider that there are varying degrees of compatibility, so while one person may give you a life of relationship bliss, another isn't quite so perfect but still close enough to spend forever with them.

Even if the the TiMER wasn't perfect, was more of a placebo than hard science or if it directed you to the most convenient potential love but not the perfect one, I still think it would be worth it. For all the angst and drama and time and energy people pour into relationships, wouldn't it at least be worth a try?
