With out really talking to them? Maybe by just knowing their first and last name?

Were the things you found good or bad?

I'm just curious as to how many ppl do this.

That's why smart people keep the details on their pages on those sites limited to friends and first-degree contacts.

I can see Googling, just out of curiosity. But deliberately trying to see someone's family or where someone works is creepy and inappropriate.

Happens ALL the time. I not only googled a guy, I looked him up in Ancestry.com. Interesting what you find -- a second marriage I didn't know about, for example.

Yup! Been there, done that. They mostly confirmed what I already knew about the person.

With some search engines, though, you can't help but find out about someone's family. They pull them from public records. It's kinda scary how much free info is out there.

I googled someone once but only after he stalked me--this was a random stranger stalking--and he showed up on MO Casenet with a stalking charge on someone else. Since he was a random stranger, there wasn't anything I could have done to stop this anyway, but I learned my lesson and now if I was thinking about dating someone seriously, I would google them.

An ex-classmate informed me that she found out through googling a guy she was dating that he was an ex-con. Scared the living you know what out of her. LOL!

NO. I might find something that I might take wrong or I didn't want to find out. If I found out something that I didn't understand or took the wrong way it would eat at me. I would end up asking & surly end up ruining my relationship.
