Much less that their interests would include knitting, scrapbooking and bingo! I'm 35 - does this mean that in 5 years - those will be my primary interests, too! I left out playing with the grandkids because my kid is only 3 1/2 months old - I don't think I'll have any grandkids by the time I'm 40!

WELL, I am one of the "older" women and I have never done ANY of your ageist list of "hobbies"...except reading, which includes history and historical novels, classics etc.

I HAPPEN to have: SCUBA certification. Just recently sold my sea kayak. Strong swimmer. Enjoy walking and bike riding. A long-time gardener who provided nutritional and fresh foods for the table and now has a HOBBY of container orchids, succulents and cacti. Frequent travel with a focus on wildlife.

Also studing art history towards a BA in same; so I frequent museums, cathedrals, historical sites. My love of animals leads me to have numerous pets and to volunteer with my pets for visits to nursing homes and children's wards. I am also a RN.

??? Did you mention what YOUR hobbies are? I wonder....???

sports-watching, beer-drinking, internet bore, muscle-building, car-loving....?

OH WAIT, is that a STEREOTYPE of males 20-30 yrs old???

Sorry.

I think a lot of women dont have any interests or if they do, they probably wouldnt answer honestly for fear that it would not "impress" the guy. I think older women who are in their 40s and above would me more apt to answer honestly with their "knitting", "scrapbooking", "playing with my grandkids", "reading" or "playing bingo" type responses, but really younger women, what would YOU say to this question?

Women, how would you honestly answer this question if asked by a guy on your first date?

From his perspective we should be shopping for some rocking chairs or getting fitted for some false teeth, etc.
How asinine
There's a lot of hot women over 40

Madonna 53
Jennifer Aniston 42
Halle Barry 45
Lisa Marie Presley 43
Lisa Kudrow 48

So at least I'm in good company- and I seriously doubt if any C D men here would kick any of those women out of bed....They still got it

Awesome how so many of you choose to not answer the question, but instead, replay as if you are somehow offended at the "scrapbooking", "reading", etc. comments I made. This leads me to beleive that many of your interests are "Taking care of, feeding and talking to all of my cats".

Thing is, as have been said before in the "women dont have hobbies" thread (or whatever it was called), lot of women just arent into doing things. Like that gal at the office She's 20 something and just had no idea how to answer, which I found odd but no surprising. I wanted to know what my fellow CDrs would say to this question.

Most of the women I know, and the wife's friends would say "Im into yoga", "...into ballroom dance", "...into Crossfit", "....into traveling and studying tribal belly dance", or something similar. I think the CD "universe" is quite a bit different from the "real life" universe I live in so Im just curious to see if and/or how different it is in some things.

I guess that's it.

I don't mind shopping but that's more of a necessity (when I actually need something). I don't mind going to a bar with a few friends but I don't think that really constitutes an interest as much as a social activity.
You forgot stalking.

Umm, weird assumptions about women! This may apply to the women in your life, but it certainly doesn't apply to me or most of my friends.

I would say my active interests (that I do a lot) include travel (this is my MAJOR love and I wouldn't date someone who wasn't interested in 'exotic' travel).
Skiing, strolling the city, eating out, working out, photography, dinners with friends, reading a good book, watching a great movie, day trips to the country & spur of the moment weekends away & I would love to get back into horse riding & ballroom dancing.
