I don't like tending a garden or weed whacking. He will have to do that. We'll trade, but will keep it pretty even.

Edit : If neither of us likes to landscape/garden, we will just have to hire help like others do.

I'll echo this. And I'll agree with others in that if one spouse is staying home or works part time, the lions share of the house duties should fall on that person.

My dh and I work outside the home equally, so we share housework. For example, he went food shopping today. I cleaned while he was out, cooked when he got home, and then he cleaned up the kitchen after we had dinner. It works out well.

I like mowing the lawn.

[holding the reins to the wild and dangerous machine (lawnmower) as I work my land (a 20' x 20' plot) is quite satisfying!! ]

lol, neither one of us started off liking the exterior work but the cost of employing the services of lawn care companies in my area is just down right ridiculous. So we've learned to enjoy it.

Whoever isn't bringing home a paycheck should be responsible for taking care of most household chores. If both spouses are working than the chores should be shared.

Edit: Just went through the thread and saw that pretty much everyone else said what I did.

Is it just the cleaning and cooking? What about things like laundry, gardening and other things regarding the general upkeep of your home?

Do you feel that it is realistic for a woman in this day and age to be expected to do those things? What if the woman works as well? Does that have any bearing on your views?

Would you rather have your woman quit her job and stay at home to take care of the house if you had the choice and she had no say in the matter?

It seems that in quite a few threads that if a man suggests that a woman should keep a clean house and do the cooking that they are labelled as sexist, unrealistic pigs.

I for one ENJOY cooking and keeping my home clean.

Just interested in the guys opinions only please so ladies feel free to chime in but don't bash the men for their honest opinions please or this thread will go downhill faster than Jack and Jill!

They are supposed to be. Mods will come and cut that post out and hopefully leave my thread open.
