I've just never celebrated dating someone. Like we've been together for X years might mean that, but it was never called dating anniversary.
Well we don't call it a dating anniversary but I knew what he was referring to. It's nice to recognize though because it's part of our history. We dated for 5.5 years before we were married and you can't just wipe the slate clean and start from zero.
I'm not saying anything negative about it, I'm sure couples have there own unique anniversaries they like to celebrate in some way. For me, this is just one of them.
Yeah. First date anniversary. I've celebrated anniversaries of being a couple, but I've never done that anniversary you are doing.
So if you are dating someone long term (say a year or two), wouldn't you celebrate being together for that year or two? That is a first date anniversary....that is where your timeline begins
And if you got married would you just disregard that date and just use the wedding date from there on out?

I know what you're saying, but typically the women I have dated in the past have celebrated the day we wanted to get serious. Well serious at the time lol. So the first date thing never really came up.

Gotcha...we were exclusive right out of the gate so maybe that's the difference.
