Country folk are more concerned with relationships and the simple things in life, like family gatherings. I like the idea of marrying a country-raised lass.
When I met my wife, I lived in the city. During part of my life (high school years) however, I lived on a small farm in a farming community. We raised hogs and grew field corn (for feed). Back in the mid 80's, not only did I get into Country music/dancing, Western wear, I also got highly interested in rodeo. Next thing I knew, I bought a horse, a rope and was heading to a Team Roping School.
Even though my wife was raised in a suburb of Detroit, Mich, she wound up loving Country-Western dancing. When we first met at a Denny's Restaurant, we were BOTH wearing Western attire.......including cowboy hats! I had placed a Personal Ad that she answered. She wound up loving the sport of rodeo (thank God) and we done a great 2-step together. She also loves to shoot and has her own rifle and handgun. Boating is a major thing in our life as well. BTW, before meeting her, I had met some gals that liked Country-Western dancing and Western attire (and a few of them ladies really looked "hot" in those clothes, but all they wanted to do was dance. Some had absolutely no interest in horses or pro-rodeo, while others were only interested in bull riding (and I was a roper, sorry). And, some even told me "I don't want to get their boots dirty". Then, came my wife. She got very interested in rodeo and we both ended up knowing a number of World Champions. She loved to see me on a horse and swinging a rope! Yes, those Wrangler jeans will do it every time!
Ask either of us and we'd say......"no doubt about it, God meant us to be together!"

Both of us were raised in cities. I went out with a guy from a very rural area for a while when I was younger and he was great except he was terrified of certain aspects of urban living that I found completely normal (like taking the subway at night).
It's really subjective. You say some are laid back and have good manners, but I say some are ignorant and racist.
I'm also from the north, and even though we may not be as laid back, I've observed more manners. But some southern people really are nice, just like northerners.
This is why I don't like these questions. It's just bound to be inaccurate generalizations.
Country guys know how to fix things. City guys know how to call someone to fix it for them.
Lol I am the typical city stereotype then...
